Moisture content reduction leads to natural decline in PWN

PWN populations decline naturally in wood over time, linked to reduction in moisture content and availability of food sources for nematode reproduction. Results from REPHRAME indicate that a period of 40 weeks to 1 year is sufficient for nematode populations to reduce to undetectable levels. This applies both to solid wood and to wood chips.
